Where is the summer going??
How quickly the summer is flying by. August is already upon us and I've got to start thinking about shopping for school soon! Naomi is very excited that she'll be in Mrs. Elliot's class and is devouring everything school related. A friend gave her a book called Franklin Goes to School and we read it every day (but change the name to Naomi). I'm excited for her, but feeling the occasional bit of angst as I realize how quickly she's growing up. Hard to believe that it's only been three years on August 24th since we became a family!
Lilah celebrated her second birthday in June, with a Messy Party. The kids went home clean, but enjoyed body painting, finger painting and messy food. We enjoyed watching them have so much fun. After her party, we began packing to leave for Auntie Heather and Uncle John's house on the lake the next day. I don't think I've ever been on a vacation where I returned more relaxed than I left, but Heather and John sure made that happen. The kids enjoyed the jet-ski, playing in the water, feeding the ducks, riding on the Pontoon boat and Auntie Heather's cinnamon buns (definately high on my favorites too). We sure had fun!
Myles continues to grow -- he's now 19lbs and 4.5 months old. He rolled over (back to tummy) on his four month birthday and now loves to spend tons of time on his tummy. He's also been introduced to his new favorite thing (the jolly jumper). Myles is a tremendously happy and easy going little man.
We've been spending lots of time at the beach this summer (as always) and enjoying the company of friends as you can see from the pictures! In July, we connected with our friends from Lilah's travel group at one member's home in Brampton. It was great to see all the little gals growing up and doing great. We also hosted the Klassen Family Christmas Party in July and welcomed the extended family for a day. We haven't gotten together as a group since two Christmas's ago, so it was wonderful to catch up with most of the crew.
August looks like another busy month -- plans to visit the Toronto Zoo again, Naomi's travelgroup reunion, the Millen Family Golf BBQ and some more time at Heather and John's place. On top of that, we're hoping to get together with some other friends/family. We are looking forward to it all!
Cheers! JKLM&N
